Pretty!
Handmade fabric flowers adorn clutches, necklaces, pins, and just about everything else over at EmersonMade. Turns out they are launching a line of apparel August 10th! Loving the silk dotty blouse. Oh, did I mention they live on a farm with ducks and chicks? Does it get any better?!

Healthy "Horchata" Smoothie
OMG this will blow your mind, it is so delicious. I'm declaring it the official drink of summer. While traditional horchata is made from soaking rice in water, adding sugar and cinnamon, then blending and straining through a sieve (you can find a good recipe right here), this horchata-inspired beverage has a banana and cardamom twist, minus the time involved in soaking and whatnot.
Here's the scoop: Put into a blender - or container if you're using a hand blender like me - a good bit of ice, one cut up banana (alternatively you could use a frozen banana and no ice, giving you a thicker result; I like the lightness the ice gives it), a generous shower of both cardamom and cinnamon (don't be shy!), and about a teaspoon of agave for sweetness. Add just enough rice milk to cover, blend away, and prepare to be cooled, quenched, and overwhelmed with delight.
I have to give major props to my dear friend Christy who passed along the recipe from her friend & fellow yoga instuctor Jess. Both can be found teaching regularly at Brooklyn Boulders' 7pm nightly yoga classes (Christy on Wednesdays, Jess on Sundays) so check them out sometime if you're local. Cheers to you, lovely ladies!

Gimme Shelter
Spotted this amazing Shelter Island home on dwell.com, designed by architect Cary Tamarkin as a summer getaway for his family. Tamarkin created the design with maximum outdoor, oceanfront time in mind. Breathtaking!
Happy Friday everyone :)

Wild for a Cause
Loving Hussein Chalayan's HOME tote bag featuring critically endangered species. The blank areas on the tote are silhouettes of animals that have already been lost to extinction. 100% of the profits go to UN's Plant for the Planet program.
In other news, I was psyched to see Google celebrating the amazing work of Josef Frank today (below), in honor of his 125th birthday.

Sweet and Sublime
Just discovered the loveliest blog yesterday - maybe you know about it? Tales of a Junkaholic, by Artemis - a jewelry-artisan, vintage shopkeeper, shed-decorator, and cat-lover extraordinaire - is full of interesting and colorful tidbits. I enjoyed poking around the various entries on her blog yesterday.
Then I saw her amazing handmade wedding invitations and had to share them - love, love, love the sublime touch of gold thread, hand-done typography and sweet bird illustration - gorgeous! If her blog is any indication, it's likely the wedding will be as magical as the invitations.

Bike Dreams
I'm in need of a new bike. Desperately. Just ask my husband who lugs my 40-pound boy's bike with ancient 3-speed gears up our 2 flights of stairs, or my searing calf muscles trying to push that baby up Park Slope's hill.
How cute are these Simple City bikes from Fisher Bikes (above)? Love the custom front basket and fun aqua hue.
Also, I was psyched to find this cute bike accessories slideshow on New York Magazine's site. Left, Pylones bike bell; right, Deluxe Shopper basket from The Bicycle Muse. Bottom: Po Campo reflector pin.

Did you see...
...Fine Day Press on Daily Candy?!? Our popsicle cards were featured as one of their "13 Ways We All Scream for Ice Cream". Thanks DC! I scream for ice cream too - quite often actually - which is one reason I must make time for a gym visit...

Our NSS Booth
I've been meaning to photos from our National Stationery Show debut a while back! Some of you have seen the booth already via my Kodak Gallery or on oh so beautiful paper, but I wanted to share some of my favorite images here too. Before next year's show, I will do a longer post outlining all the deets of our entire experience, from set-up to breakdown, as a sort of beginner's guide that will hopefully be helpful to other newbies out there. But for now, just the pics!

Plunge-Worthy
It's going to be a blazing 101˚ here in NYC today, yikes. Despite the heat I enjoyed an amazing weekend here in the city with friends (that luckily included a beach trip and a refreshing dip in the cold ocean). But the extreme temperature today has me thinking of just one thing: pools!
Here are some plunge-worthy pools I spotted on Apartment Therapy... ahhh!
