Busy, busy!

This is the time of year when I'm furiously working, creating and honing in on new designs
to be debuted at the National Stationery Show in May. Well, I pretty much always have some
new ideas in the hopper - many start out as a quick sketch, done here and there, on the subway,
on a napkin, etc. Or I might just pull a few color swatches or write down a pattern idea I'd like
to try. Eventually I collect all of these bits and go back and develop them as NSS draws closer.

I'm getting close to my self-imposed design deadline, and it hasn't left me much time for
blogging! I can't WAIT to share the new products with you all in the months ahead -
stay tuned...

Above, a sneak peek of some watercolor roses I'm playing with.

Truly Madly Modly

How cute are these retro mod looks from Douglas Hannant Pink?
I'd wear each and every one of these.

V-Day Love

Happy belated Valentines Day! Yesterday was a hectic one for me
and the hubby; I made him a heart-decorated cappucino to start the
busy day off right. He reciprocated in the evening by cooking up
a delicious steak and a salad with homemade Caesar dressing - yum!

Sometimes a simple Valentines day is the best - no fuss. We do have
massages planned for this Saturday, our big present to each other.
Can't wait for that.

The frothy love-inspired hot choco seen here was shot by Cheryl Zibisky -
check out her shop for lots of great prints!

Not much to say here - just a pretty wintertime twilight shot I wanted to share!

Minimal + Color

With the National Stationery Show just a few months away (eek!),
I've been hard at work on new creative development to expand the
current Fine Day Press line. I love the creative part of my business -
it's why I started up in the first place - and I have so many ideas
that I couldn't possibly produce them all, so invariably some things
get shelved. That's all for the best, since it pushes me to really edit
and only produce the strongest designs.

Right now, I've been playing with several watercolor illustrations
as well as fun new pattern designs for letterpress cards. Today I'm
feeling inspired by a few ceramic pieces: Italian designer Ettore
Sottsass' colorful, minimal stripes and Up In The Air Somewhere's
ethereal ombre bowls and color-dipped cups.

kate spade + Pinterest

I recently joined Pinterest, and while I haven't actually *pinned* anything yet, I'm completely enamored with kate spade's well-curated, lively boards. the Here are just a few of the wonderful things you might see there:
